Texans LT Laremy Tunsil still working on conditioning after missing time with COVID-19

Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil is still working his way into shape after missing the last two weeks of training camp due to testing positive for COVID-19.

Tunsil, who's been named to the Pro Bowl the past two seasons in Houston, is practicing but he's limited in the number of reps, head coach David Culley said Thursday.

"He's coming along," Culley said. "He's not where he needs to be right now but the conditioning is getting better and better. We limit him in practice with how many reps he gets from a time standpoint, but he's coming along. He's not there yet."

Tunsil is expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Culley said.

In Tunsil's absence, the Texans have relied on Geron Christian at left tackle. Tytus Howard has moved from right tackle to left guard, but could also presumably play left tackle if needed.
