Rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud had not yet emerged as one of the best young players in the NFL. The Texans' run defense had not developed into one of the better units in the league.
These two teams, both sitting at 9-7 with a chance to punch a ticket to the playoffs, are evenly matched.
