(SportsRadio 610) -- Texans outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett suffered a broken forearm in the team's win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, according to a report by the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.
Interim head coach Romeo Crennel said after the game Scarlett and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu were both injured. Crennel said Scarlett suffered a lower arm injury, and Omenihu went down with a hamstring injury.
The Texans won 27-25, despite being with out both starting outside linebackers, and a thinning inside linebacker group.
Outside linebacker Jacob Martin tested positive for COVID-19 last week, with high-risk close contacts in fellow OLB Whitney Mercilus and ILB Dylan Cole also disqualified from Sunday's game.
Reserve ILB Kyle Emanuel was ruled out of Sunday's game with a concussion.
The injuries meant more snaps for rookie OLB Jonathan Greenard, who had three tackles.
On the offensive side of the ball, the Texans also lost running back David Johnson and left guard Senio Kelemete to concussions Sunday.
“Our guys stepped up because we did have some injuries," Crennel said. "Guys got banged up and had to miss plays. Guys who were backing them up were able to step into it and do the job. They fought hard all game. (In) critical situations we were able to come up and make plays. Then we were able to win the game.”
