Texans DE J.J. Watt: 'Whatever we're doing is not working'

HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- J.J. Watt is frustrated.

The Texans are 0-4 after losing to the Vikings at home Sunday. Watt said after the game something needs to change, though he would only point to himself, controlling what he can.

Watt called the winless start "terrible, brutal" and "depressing."

In his 10th season, this is the first time Watt has been 0-4 as a Texan.

Houston last started a season 0-4 in 2008.

"We obviously have to do something different," Watt said after the game. "We're 0-4. Whatever we're doing is not working. Something needs to change. Something needs to be different. The only thing I know I can do is work harder, control what I can control. Work harder, be better at my job, do better at my job, be better in my gap, make more plays, get off of double teams. Get a sack. Get a turnover. Get a takeaway. I'll control what I can control."

Watt had three tackles in the Texans' 31-23 loss to the Vikings on Sunday. This season Watt's recorded two sacks, his only tackles for loss, and five quarterback hits in four games.

The Texans had a season-high nine quarterback hits against the Vikings, but it wasn't enough to make up for another poor performance against the run, losing the turnover battle, and more inconsistency on offense.
