HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has agreed to terms on a contract extension worth $160 million over four new years, according to multiple reports.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the deal locks the quarterback with the Texans through 2025, with $111 million in guarantees.
Watson will average $39 million per year in salary with a $27 million signing bonus, according to Texans insider John McClain.
As Rapoport notes, Watson gets more cash over the four years of his deal than Patrick Mahomes.
After the deal was announced, Watson released a statement on social media thanking the McNair family, head coach Bill O'Brien, executive VP Jack Easterby, his teammates, family and the Texans fans.
Watson was already under contract for the next two seasons.
