(SportsRadio 610) - Texans defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson is yet another player added to the COVID-19 list, bringing the team's total to 15.
Johnson is the sixth Texans' defensive lineman to be placed on the list since last week. Jonathan Greenard, the team's sack leader, and DeMarcus Walker were put on the list last week. The Texans placed Maliek Collins, Jacob Martin and Derek Rivers on the list Monday.
Also on the list for Houston are starting linebackers Christian Kirksey, Kamu Grugier-Hill, cornerback Terrance Mitchell, guards Justin McCray and Lane Taylor, reserve safeties A.J. Moore and Terrence Brooks and practice squad players Cre'von LeBlanc and Jaylen Samuels.
All of those players are vaccinated, which means they could return after two consecutive negative tests taken at least 24 hours apart. There has been no indication the players put on the list last week have returned.
Texans head coach David Culley meets with media members Wednesday morning and should provide an update.
In response to their defensive line being depleted by COVID-19, the Texans signed free agent nose tackle Xavier Williams and defensive end Ron'Dell Carter. They also signed linebacker Josh Watson to the practice squad.
