(SportsRadio 610) -- The Texans are keeping running backs coach Danny Barrett and moving inside linebackers coach Bobby King to defensive line coach under the new staff, according to the Houston Chronicle's Aaron Wilson.
Replacing King as linebackers coach will be Miles Smith, son of new defensive coordinator Lovie Smith. The father-son duo coached together at Illinois, where the younger Smith coached linebackers and defensive backs under his father.
King and Barrett join offensive coordinator Tim Kelly as holdovers from the previous staff.
Former tight ends coach Will Lawing is joining Bill O'Brien with the Alabama staff as an analyst and will be replaced in Houston by former Ravens tight ends coach Andy Bischoff.
The Texans are also hiring Pep Hamilton as quarterbacks coach and former Eagles assistant coach Dino Vasso as secondary coach, replacing D'Anton Lynn.
Last week, the Texans officially hired David Culley to his first NFL head coaching position and the staff is still coming together.
