(SportsRadio 610) -- Less than a week after signing quarterback Jeff Driskel, the Texans are releasing former Bengals backup Ryan Finley.
The news was first reported by the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero.
About two months ago, the Texans made a late-round pick swap with the Bengals for Finley. The Bengals had planned to release Finley at the time, but instead flipped him into moving up about 30 spots in the draft.
Last week, though, the Texans signed veteran backup Driskel, bringing their total to five quarterbacks on the roster, including the estranged Deshaun Watson.
Now, the depth chart has Watson, Driskel, Tyrod Taylor and third-round rookie Davis Mills.
Watson is not expected to play for the Texans this season, having requested a trade even more than 20 women levied sexual assault and harassment allegations against him in civil suits.
