Texans sign No. 3 overall pick Will Anderson Jr.

The Texans officially signed rookie edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. to a contract over the weekend, the team announced.

The contract for Anderson, who Houston traded up to select No. 3 overall, is a fully guaranteed four-year, $35,212,818 million deal with a fifth-year option, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.

Anderson is expected to be one of the Texans' key pass rushers this season, along with Jonathan Greenard and Jerry Hughes. The Texans have also looked at moving Anderson inside on certain obvious passing situations, to get their best and most athletic rushers on the field.

Teammates, coaches and management all rave about Anderson's commitment to football and overall work ethic.

The next step is to watch him battle in training camp against Texans Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil, and also right tackle Tytus Howard, who is playing in a contract year.
