On the first day of the draft, the Texans traded back. On day two, they traded up to draft an offensive lineman.
With the 48th pick in the draft, Houston selected Aireontae Ersery, an offensive tackle out of Minnesota. To make the move, the traded the 58th and 99th picks to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Ersery started 38 games at left tackle for Minnesota over the past three seasons, earning All-Big Ten honors in each of them. Last season, he was a third-team All-American, Big Ten OL of the Year and first-team All-Big Ten.
This is a massive human at 6'6", 331 pounds, so it will be interesting to see if the Texans keep him at tackle, or try to bump him inside to guard.
