Texans trade up to draft tight end Cade Stover, former Ohio State teammate of C.J. Stroud
C.J. Stroud is reuniting with a former college teammate after the Houston Texans traded up to draft tight end Cade Stover in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
The Texans traded with the Philadelphia Eagles to move up four spots, from pick No. 127 to No. 123, and selected the former Ohio State tight end.
Last season, Stover was one of three finalists for the Mackey Award, which goes to the top tight end in the country. He was named the Big Ten Tight End of the Year after playing in 12 games with 11 starts. Stover caught 41 passes for 576 yards and five touchdowns.
The Texans made five more picks to complete the final day of the draft: LB Jamal Hill (sixth round, 188th overall pick); RB Jawhar Jordan (sixth round, 205th overall pick); EDGE Solomon Byrd (seventh round, 238th overall pick); DT Marcus Harris (seventh round, 247th overall); G LaDarius Henderson (seventh round; 249th overall).
