HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks returned to practice Wednesday in a limited capacity and is listed as questionable to play against the Kansas City Chiefs in the season-opener.
Cooks has a quad injury and did not participate in practice Tuesday. He was limited at practice Monday and Wednesday, according to the team's injury report.
Cooks is expected to be one of Deshaun Watson's best receivers this season.
The Texans traded top receiver DeAndre Hopkins during the offseason, then later traded for Cooks from the Los Angeles Rams.
In six NFL seasons, Cooks has proven to be durable, despite a spate of concussions in his career. After his rookie year, in which he played in 10 games for the New Orleans Saints, Cooks went four straight seasons playing the full 16-game schedule with three different teams (Saints, Patriots, Rams).
Cooks played and started in 14 games for the Rams last season.
Also listed as questionable for the Texans on Thursday are fullback Cullen Gillaspia (hamstring) and rookie outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard (ankle).
Cornerback Lonnie Johnson Jr. has been a full participant in practice the past two days after being limited Monday with a hip injury.
Defensive end J.J. Watt, believed to be healthy, was a full participant Wednesday after not participating Tuesday.
