Dwayne Johnson confirmed for "Moana" live action remake
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson shared a video of him on the beaches of Hawaii with his two young daughters to share that there’s going to be a live action remake of 'Moana'.
He gave some information on what to expect, even though we have no timeline or release date for the remake. He did say everyone from the original animated film will be returning and be in the live action remake. He also gave some inside scoop on 'Moana' by saying his character Maui was based on his grandfather High Chief Peter Maivia.
“Humbled to say we’re bringing Moana’s beautiful story to the live-action big screen," he said in the Instagram video, "I’m honored to partner with Disney to tell our story through the realm of music and dance, which at the core is who we are as Polynesian people.”
