Glenn's Review of Hamilton at Playhouse Square. Should You See It? Should You See It Again?

My review of Hamilton? Go see it.

Have you seen it already?  That's great.

See it again.

Hamilton is one of those shows that is completely overwhelming the first time you see it.  They tell you to do your homework and study up on the history of it all.

I want a night out.  I don't wanna study for a test.  That's why I got into radio in the first place.

And so the first time I went, I listened to the soundtrack a bit, and hoped for the best.

Needless to say, I was lost for most of the performance, yet still loved what I was seeing.

Now, a few years later, and the soundtrack permanently ingrained in my head from all my kids playing it ad-nauseum, I get it a bit more.

Sure, if you are not really paying attention and listening to every word that is being said, you are gonna miss things..and you know what? That's OK.

This is one of those rare shows, that you can get something new out of it each time you see it.

I realize seeing a show of this magnitude more than once lends itself to eye-rollers, as the costs of such greatness might ensure your child doesn't get Christmas...but, do it if you can.

See it once.

See it again.

And then see it one more time.  I'm thinking after the 4th time I might actually understand it all...but even if I don't, I had an epic time with the spectacle of it all.

Almost to the point, where I wanna read a history book.

Not quite, but maybe.

Hamiton is playing through January 15th at the Keybank State Theatre. For tickets and info, click HERE
