Wicked is back at Playhouse Square. We are so lucky that this incredible musical keeps coming back. It's one of those shows where you find something new in it each time you see it.

Which means, if this is your first time seeing it, it can be overwhelming...but in a good way.

People who do reviews for a living bill it as the untold story of the witches of oz, but I have to be honest with you..The Wizard of Oz references are few and far between. If you wanna see it because you loved The Wizard of Oz, perhaps you should see Hamilton instead.

The reason why this is such an incredible show, is because of the music. So many songs you've heard before and love. Also, the costumes, the set, the special effects, the characters..all amazing and worth seeing for the first time or the 10th time.

I took my 7 year old son Carter and he loved it. It wasn't too scary, and it held his attention for the 2 hour and 45 minute run time.

Nothing like driving home in 30 degree weather, windows rolled down and two guys singing Defying Gravity...Quite the sight for the commuters on I-71.

Fresh air felt good after all that time wearing a mask, but it was hardly difficult with such a supreme show. Masks are required for everyone. Those under 12 don't need to show proof of vaccination and don't need to show a negative covid test. Those over 12? You need proof of vaccination or a negative covid test within 24 hours of the performance. You can take your mask off to eat and drink (pretzels anyone?)

I loved the show, and I feel the performances are the best they've ever been. It seemed like the actors were genuinely thrilled to be back on stage

..Defying gravity once again.

Wicked is playing at Playhouse Square through January 2nd. Get tickets and additional Covid-19 protocols HERE
