Are you broken?
I mean full on Humpty Dumpty.
Maybe you're physically broken, or mentally broken.
Perhaps it's your spirit or something else entirely.
We all go through moments of being broken, and while we are knee-deep in the anxiety it brings, it doesn't seem possible we will find enough Gorilla Glue to make it better.
This was the case for me in 2016.
Mental health broken, marriage breaking..It all came crumbling down like the walls in a John Mellencamp song.
And in those moments it is incredibly difficult to pull yourself out of things, and you rely on other people to keep you afloat.
Maybe it's a spouse or a friend.
Maybe it's God..Or maybe it's..
Nobody.
The truth is, a lot of us don't have someone to get them through the tough times. A lot of us battle it alone and it never goes well. A lot of us don't have an angel on earth to pick them up.
My angel was Steph.
Refusing to give up on me, and getting me to a place where I could be stronger than I ever was.
And so now I’ve rediscovered my purpose and I’m trying to help others.
Taking the life God gave me, and trying to live a life He would be proud of. Making mistakes, but working at it day by day.
And the beauty in the darkness, is that people who were once broken, are the ones who can help the most.
Former drug addicts make up the highest number of drug counselors.
Former non-believers make up the highest number of pastors.
That's right! Brokenness can lead to a wholeness like you've never experienced before.
An old life of eating the last of the Dorito bag..With orange powder and crumbs on your fingers, face, and floor...to your new and improved one..fresh, whole, glorious tortillas..in a bag that still has way too much product settlement during shipping.
If you were once broken and now you're better, who can you be an angel for? It doesn't require a particular skill-set. It requires you to not give up on someone.
If you're broken right now, it gets better..don't give up on yourself.
All my best in life and the relationships in it
XOXO Glenn
