What do you stand for?
My boys went and stood on top of the biggest pile of leaves I've ever seen. They seemingly touched the sky. Standing for something (or on something) is imperative in life.
Lots of us stood for something during the election this week.
No, this isn't a political post, so you can keep reading. I have no agenda..Other than to tell you to..
Stand for something.
And it doesn't necessarily have to be something that you see on the news. It doesn't need to be something you heard in church.
But it certainly can be.
I have definite opinions. I have definite likes and dislikes.
I believe God centers me and makes me better when I surrender to Him.
I believe finding the right jet in a hot tub can make a bad day good.
I definitely like pizza.
I definitely dislike a particular Christmas song.
I definitely like Lionel Richie and Nickelback.
I definitely dislike the color brown (or is it green?)
So I make my thoughts known, not because I wanna convince you to think my way, but because I believe your passions make up your personality.. and knowing someone completely is the first step towards grace and understanding.
Those that float through life with no opinion are either ignorant or too scared to be someone who may or may not be accepted.
It also makes it truly difficult to completely know someone.
I just signed a new radio contract on Monday that will take me to almost 30 years with the same company..but my goals have never changed:.
Don't be fake.
Don't be afraid to be you.
You will earn respect if you are authentic, not by being what or who you need to be in the moment..or for the format..or for the demo.
So stand up. Find your pile of leaves and climb to the top.
Or rake mine.
All my best as you navigate life and the relationships in it
Now, off to find a hot tub..
XOXO Glenn
