Glenn's Weekly Motivational-What Moves You?

I woke up super early on Sunday morning by myself and on a couch in Columbus.

Cooper and I had been spending the weekend in Cincinnati for a basketball tournament, and our dear friend Ashley was kind enough to let us stay at her house.

I turned on the TV, and all that was on was some super-early news talk show talking about..you guessed it, the eclipse.

And not just talking about it, it was their only story.
Trying to cover it from seemingly every angle.

As a radio host, I got tired of talking about it. Is it gonna be cloudy? Where should you keep your pets? Who has a rooftop shindig? So much pomp and repetitive circumstance.

So, at the end of the hour, the TV hosts had their usual small talk banter, and when asking each other what they hoped to get out of the eclipse, this one guy said..

“I wanna know how it’s gonna touch my soul.”

“Dude, that’s so lame and rehearsed,” I thought to myself.

For whatever reason, that line stuck with me, and as we began the big day, I started wondering..

“Will it touch my soul?” and I shook my head.

I knew I wanted to be with the people I love in that moment, and as the day went on, I realized this might be a bigger deal than I was initially thinking.

And so the moment came..and I tried taking in every precious second of it all.

We were in the front yard..Cooper was sitting on my car consumed with his thoughts and binoculars, Madelyn and her friend were making TikToks, Carter was snuggled up next to Steph and I, Star 102 was playing..and our friends were doing the exact same thing. We took this quick picture, and quickly got back to savoring those 4 minutes.

Maybe you were with loved ones..maybe you were thinking of your loved ones who have passed on and if they were able to see it too..Maybe you just paused and thought about nothing.

Maybe it moved your soul.

As you go through life, find the things that move you.

Maybe it’s a career, maybe it’s a relationship, and maybe it’s something totally different, but find it.

My friend Jim posted that the sun is 400 times larger than our moon, and it’s also 400 times further away from the Earth. It’s this exact ratio that allows EARTH ONLY to experience what we all experienced yesterday.

God continues to move my soul..

I hope you found meaning and motivation in that small celestial event yesterday. If not, don't ever stop looking.

All my best as you navigate life and the relationships in it.

XOXO Glenn
