Great Lakes Brewing Co. is opening a location in Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. It will replace Saucy Brew Works on the lower-level concourse. The “Great Lakes Experience” will be a beverage-only taproom on the main concourse in the arena’s south neighborhood. It has views of Progressive Field and features a dozen 55-inch televisions to create a sports bar-like atmosphere.
The presence in the arena adds to the already high-volume visibility of the brewery. Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse hosts 200 games, events and concerts annually.
It’s a busy time for Great Lakes Brewing Co., the state’s first craft brewery that started in 1988. On Thursday, Oct. 20, the brewery is slated to hold its annual first pour party, which marks the launch of its popular, seasonal Christmas Ale.
