Billie Eilish – "everything i wanted"
Co-written by Billie and her brother FINNEAS, the gorgeous song stems from a nightmare she had and serves as a tribute to their relationship. "Finneas is my brother and my best friend. no matter the circumstance, we always have and always will be there for each other," reads a message in the opening of the video. The song beautifully blends pop with minimal piano and downtempo/electronica influences.
Doja Cat – "Say So"
The Tik Tok anthem is a pure jam incorporating elements of funk and disco throughout the groovy track. The song has nearly 200 million views on YouTube since its release in late February.
Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande – "Rain On Me"
The all-star collaboration off of Gaga's latest album Chromatica marked the very first time a female collaboration took the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 tune. The song is a banger and if we weren't in the middle of the pandemic, it would surely be bumping daily on every dance floor.
Megan Thee Stallion – "Savage"
Meg's big single of her EP Suga manages to sound like a throwback and fresh at the same time. With a trap beat accompanying throwback Hip Hop melodic hooks, the song is undeniably catchy and makes you want to get up and dance.
Post Malone – "Circles"
If you said Posty's next hit was going to be an indie pop rock jam, congratulations you nailed it. Although the lyrical content of the song about a deteriorating relationship has been in line with his past work, it was a departure from his traditional sound.
Roddy Ricch – "The Box"
Like "Say So," "The Box" is a TikTok anthem generating over 6.5 billion views as of June 2020. Although the song is best known for it's "eee ooh" sound at the beginning, it contains a minimalist feel with ethereal synths and 808 drums to let Ricch's rapping shine at the forefront.
