As you might have heard during Trump Toohey today, Dolly Parton teamed up with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream on the limited-edition flavor, and it is a Strawberry Pretzel Ice Cream. It’s called Strawberry Pretzel Pie. Unfortunately, it was so popular it crashed the Jeni’s website. Great news for fans it’ll be available again very soon.

If you aren’t familiar with Jeni’s, it was started by Jeni Britton Bauer as Scream Ice Cream in Columbus, Ohio! The origin story of the brand starts in the North Market in Downtown Columbus (which is a great visit if you haven’t been there). Jeni attended the Ohio State University and pursued chemistry, she started with making perfumes before moving to essential oils and ultimately ice cream as she found that it carried scents really well. She got rejected from North Market several times before another ice cream stand in a market got aired on PBS.

She then dropped out of Ohio State to take the ice cream short course at Penn State. The rest as they say is history! Several years now have past and Jeni’s now has 47 brick and mortar store fronts and nationwide retail distribution. That has led to some pretty awesome partnerships (like this one with Dolly Parton) all as a company that started in Columbus’ North Market almost 20 years ago. Way to go Jeni’s!
