Georgia House Approves $38 Billion Budget
The Georgia House passed a $38 billion state budget Monday, including millions for literacy coaches, school safety initiatives, and other education priorities. The measure now moves to the state Senate for consideration.

Gas Prices Surge Across Metro Atlanta
Drivers are feeling the pinch at the pump. AAA reports that the average price for regular gas in Atlanta is now about $3.28 per gallon, up 44 cents from last week. Some areas report prices as high as $3.55 per gallon. Governor Brian Kemp is considering a temporary suspension of the state gas tax to help ease the cost.

Living on the Outskirts May Cost More
For those hoping to save money by commuting from outside the Perimeter (OTP), the strategy may backfire. The Wall Street Journal reports that home prices OTP are poised to surpass those inside the Perimeter (ITP), making Atlanta the only large U.S. metro area with this trend.
