Alternative rock band Anberlin is bringing its latest music to Atlanta as part of its ongoing tour with Switchfoot, giving longtime fans and new listeners a chance to experience the band’s evolving sound ahead of its upcoming album, “Currency.”

During an interview Bassist and Co-Founder Deon Rexroat discussed life on the road, connecting with new audiences and what fans can expect when the band takes the stage at Atlanta’s Tabernacle.

The tour, which began in mid-September, is approaching its final stretch, with approximately three weeks and 13 shows remaining. Deon said the experience has been rewarding, particularly as Anberlin continues introducing its music to audiences who may be discovering the band for the first time through its performances with Switchfoot.

“This tour has been great. We've, we started back in mid-September, so we're nearing the end of it,” Deon said. “It's been an awesome tour. It's been great playing in front of our fans every night, playing in front of a few new fans with Switchfoot crowd and everything.”

Although the band has performed in cities such as Philadelphia and Denver, Atlanta remains a special stop. Deon expressed his appreciation for the Southeast and the city's continued support throughout Anberlin's more than 20 years together.

The tour has also provided an opportunity to introduce audiences to music from the band's forthcoming album, “Currency,” scheduled for release Nov. 11. Deon said the response to the new material has been encouraging, with fans already singing along to songs that have only recently been released.

Anberlin performs at the Tabernacle in Atlanta today, alongside Switchfoot. The band's new album, “Currency,” arrives Nov. 11.
