Jenn Hobby chats with Local Atlanta resident Cait Martin, who has made it past the knockout rounds on The Voice on Team Kelly.
Today's local Spotlight is on an Atlanta artist on The Voice, Cait Martin is from Sandy Springs and she just won in The Knockout rounds for Team Kelly. I got the chance to catch up with Cait and find out more about this local superstar in the making. She shared insight on what it means to be on Team Kelly calling it "absolutely phenomenal". Cait shared that before even finding out who any of the coaches were, all the contestants were asked who they would want as a coach and she chose Kelly Clarkson because she sees so much of who she wants to be in Clarkson.

In fact during her audition Clarkson was the first person to hit her button and turn around for Cait Martin. Her first response when Clarkson turned around was, "I'm like I can't look at her" because she was fighting nerves and excitement to see her idol. Cait also shared what she's learned about herself on this journey, which is that she can do this show because of her background in musical theater performances and more. She said, "This experience has taught me that I can step out on my own as Cait Martin and be just as good as anyone else out there so it's really been a journey and self-assurance and validation that I'm on the right path and I can make it as an artist in this career."
Cait's next step is when they take team Kelly from five people down to two. The Voice airs Monday nights at 8:00 on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
