The Home Depot Backyard (HDBY), as part of its Arts and Culture collection presented by The Home Depot Foundation, is set kick-off the Piedmont Healthcare Summer Movie Series with its Juneteenth celebration on June 17, 2023, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m.

The Home Depot Backyard welcomes several new partners, led by presenting partner Piedmont Healthcare, for its 2023 Summer Movie Series, which will also include a second event on July 22.
The Juneteenth celebration will also be highlighted by Truist Vendor Village, a uniquely curated collection of Black-owned businesses and vendors from the greater Atlanta community that will be on-site offering a wide variety of goods and services.
SweetWater Brewing joins as a partner and will host an interactive beer garden throughout the series with the Juneteenth event featuring a special collaboration with Atlantucky Brewing, an Atlanta-based brewery owned by members of the Grammy-nominated hip hop group Nappy Roots. Proceeds from every pint sold of the collaboration beer during the HDBY’s Juneteenth celebration will be donated to Ch8sing Waterfalls, a non-profit organization focused on empowering women of color to find healing in nature while forging diversity outdoors.
Entertainment for this year’s Juneteenth celebration at The Home Depot Backyard will be headlined by a prime time showing on center lawn of The Wiz, the 1978 Academy award-winning film and cult classic featuring an all-star cast led by Diana Ross and Michael Jackson. Immediately following the movie screening will be a laser light show, which will be projected on the Mercedes-Benz Stadium façade and feature special Juneteenth-inspired visuals and music.
Other activations include a kids’ zone, food trucks, live performances, an interactive mural exhibit, immersive photo experiences, giveaways, and more. Music will be provided by DJ Waffles.
The Juneteenth celebration at The Home Depot Backyard is free and open to the public, but registration is required for entry. Tickets are now available through the HDBY Eventbrite page HERE.
