Dan and Shay are set to replace Blake Shelton’s spot on the show after his 23 season stint. The Grammy Award winning duo will take the first ever “double red chair” to coach NBC’s 25th season of The Voice in the spring of 2024. The pair will join the list of very talented coaches including Chance the Rapper, Reba McEntire and EGOT Winner John Legend.

The American Country Pop group has been active for the last 10 years - hitting the scene in 2013. The group consists of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney; However they didn’t start as a duo. Shay was originally a solo artist for T-Pain’s label Nappy Boy Entertainment and Dan was part of another group called Bonaventure from Floodgate Records. Dan and Shay met in December 2012 at Dan’s house party and actually ended up performing together the first day they met. Within months of teaming up and writing songs they accepted an offer from Warner-Chappell Music.

In the 10 years the group has seen a great deal of success from their first album in 2014 “Where It All Began”. Interestingly enough they would go on to open for Blake Shelton in the same year for Shelton’s Ten Times Crazier Tour. From 2015 - 2017 Dan and Shay spent time touring and promoting their second album “Obsessed” which was released in 2016. By 2018 the country pop duo would have another run in with a coach from The Voice. This time they did a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson for their single “Keeping Score” on their third self titled album.
