Will Smith says he gets it if audiences aren’t ready to see him in his upcoming slavery epic, Emancipation, but he’s hoping that his actions during the 2022 Academy Awards penalize his team. In a new interview, Will Smith talked about his feelings about fans being wary to watch him on the big screen after he slapped Chris Rock at this year’s Oscars. “I completely understand that, if someone is not ready. I would absolutely respect that and allow them their space to not be ready,” Smith said.

While he acknowledged people have mixed feelings about watching him again, he went on to say his “deepest concern is my team” and being able to celebrate the new movie’s accomplishments outside of his actions in March. “The people on this team have done some of the best work of their entire careers, and my deepest hope is that my actions don’t penalize my team,” he said. “So at this point, that’s what I’m working for. That’s what I’m hoping for."
Jay Leno has returned to stand-up comedy two weeks after his garage fire that caused severe third degree burns. The former Tonight Show host performed for an hour at the Comedy & Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California. Jay Leno has been performing at the club since 1978 and on Monday, NBC’s Today Show featured clips of Leno walking into the club for his comedy set on Sunday night. Leno was stopped by reporters on the way into the club and asked if he was nervous and his response was priceless, “We’ve got two shows tonight — regular and extra-crispy. I never thought of myself as a roast comic.”

On November 21st, Leno was released from the hospital more than a week after being treated for third-degree burns. Leno underwent surgery for the burns on his face, chest and hands and is continuing to receive out-patient care. He is expected to make a full recovery.
