Krispy Kreme on Ponce rises from the ashes on October 10

Krispy Kreme's "Hot Doughnuts Now" sign might have been out of commission twice to fire, but the iconic Atlanta Doughnut spot is back in action starting October 10.

Krispy Kreme on Ponce De Leon Avenue is back. The famous doughnut shop has twice shut down due to fire, but the delicious all day delight will reopen on October 10th. The Midtown Atlanta location has undergone an entire beautification process including saying goodbye to the classic doughnut shop vibe and hello to a new modern appearance.

Thankfully through the leadership of local Atlanta resident and Basketball Legend Shaquille O'Neal, some of the store's original charm has remained intact including the original signage. O'Neal purchased the shop back in 2016 as part of a deal he struck with the doughnut company. It's also been under his ownership when fire struck the location twice in one year.

Amazingly the nearly 60 year old location has risen from the ashes with new mural paying homage to the store's history.
