Georgia’s New Teacher of The Year is Michael Kobito. We congratulate Michael, who is a teacher at Woodland High School in Cartersville. Kobito was just named the Georgia Teacher of the Year by state school superintendent Richard Woods on Saturday night.

Michael is a high school band director, an AP music theory teacher, and he oversees four concert bands, a 200-member marching band, a basketball pep band, a private lessons Institute, a jazz band and a Winter Guard troup. Michael says his classroom philosophy is every student's contribution is important and every student can learn and I'll be considered during the selection process for the 2023 national teacher of the year. Congratulations to Bartow County Michael Kobito!
