The estate of Michael Jackson is alleging that a man engaged to one of the late singer’s siblings took advantage of his death to ransack his Carolwood home, stealing personal effects amounting to over $1 million.
And now, the family is trying to get it all back.
Jackson’s estate alleges that Jeffre Phillips used Jackson’s death in 2009 as an opportunity to take “hard drives, laptops, iPods, CDs and DVDs believed to contain non-public performances and unreleased concert footage” from the home.
Per TMZ, the estate also claims Phillips stole “a bunch of Michael's handwritten notes with bits of song lyrics ... plus personal computers, cassette tapes, a photo album with MJ on the cover, a black bag with a skull on it, framed record awards and a Michael Jackson doll.”
