The recall, issued this week from the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), includes certain models of Whirlpool, Ivation, Perfect Aire, and SuperClima dehumidifiers.

The two million units were sold at Lowe’s, Walmart, Costco, and Menards between February 2009 and August 2017.

No one has been injured, but there have been 107 reports of fires, which have caused a reported $17 million in property damage.

The brand name, model number, and pint capacity can be found printed on the nameplate sticker on the back of the dehumidifier.

CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the dehumidifiers immediately and contact New Widetech for a refund by calling 877-251-1512 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or going online to wwww.recallrtr.com/nwtdehumidifier.

The amount of the refund will be pro-rated based on the age of the dehumidifier.
