Britney Spears is speaking out about her divorce from her husband of 14 months, Hesam 'Sam' Asghari and is making clear the details are “honestly, nobody’s business.”

“As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a video of her dancing in a black top and neon bottoms. “6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!”
While the Pop princess may look carefree in her post as she dances around in her home, she told fans she struggles to show her true emotions after always having to hide her weaknesses in life.
“I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly !!!” She shared in the same caption. “I’ve been playing it strong for way too long and my Instagram may seem perfect but it’s far from reality and I think we all know that !!! I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses !!!”
She continued, “In some sort of telepathic way I have been receiving so many messages that melt my heart from friends and I thank you !!!“ She said. “I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! And I’m actually doing pretty damn good !!! Anyways have a good day and don’t forget to smile !!!”
Asghari also took to Instagram to address the split in a way many fans are deeming “inappropriate.”
The 29-year-old posted three different photos of himself on his since-expired story with different filters to alter his appearance asking fans to “help me choose,” a disguise to hide from the paparazzi.
Rumors of a divorce between Spears and her husband started to fly after the couple had an argument one source described to TMZ was “nuclear.”
According to documents obtained by TMZ, 29-year-old Asghari filed for divorce from the Pop star on August 16, 2023 listing a separation date of July 18, 2023 and citing irreconcilable differences" as the main reason.
The couple has a prenup, which reportedly has Spears’ assets listed as separate property. According to comments from Asghari’s lawyer, Neal Hersh, Sam has plans to contest the prenup.
"[Sam] has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party,” the documents obtained by TMZ read. "There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time."
The couple was together for seven years total after they met on the set of Spears’ "Slumber Party" music video.
