In addition to the previously released singles off the 15-track album, GloRilla continues to contribute more of those trap anthems she’s quickly become known for. But that’s not all GLORIOUS has to offer. Mixed in with the typical braggadocios booty bouncing bops like “Whatchu Know About Me” featuring Sexyy Red, and the Megan Thee Stallion collab “How I Look,” Glo also serves up some gospel vibes with “Rain Down On Me,” enlisting choirmaster Kirk Franklin and renowned gospel singers Kierra Sheard and Chandler Moore on the uplifting tune.
But don’t get it twisted, GLORIOUS is giving every bit of that dirty South Hip-Hop for the “young, turnt gangster” that GloRilla hoped for when discussing what type of music she wants to put out with NME back in 2022. Even sampling some of those unforgettable bops, like she did on “Hollon,” with DJ Unk’s “Hold on Ho” chorus, and the aforementioned “Whatchu Know About Me,” interpolating Boosie Badazz’s “Wipe Me Down.”
One things for sure, throughout the entire album, the Memphis music-maker is explicitly and unapologetically herself, and all about girl power. From “Step” with BossMan Dlow, a no-holds-barred call from your bestie detailing her dream man, and “Let Her Cook” about taking what’s yours, set to an interpolation of Pharoahe Monch’s “Simon Says.”
GLORIOUS also boasts collabs with the likes of Latto, Muni Long, T-Pain and Fridayy. Listen to the entire album below.
