Today, Kandi Burruss-Tucker and her husband, Todd Tucker, as well as producer Brian Moreland, joined The Big Tigger Morning Show on Atlanta’s V-103 to discuss the 2023 revival of The Wiz, now on the road making stops in 13 cities across the country for the pre-Broadway national tour.

After kicking the party off in Baltimore -- "Sold-out, every day... just wanna say that," says Burruss, the production is now on the road before a full Broadway run. "We wanted to do it a little bit differently," she adds. "Sometimes people do Broadway first and then tour it." Kandi explains of her past productions, "When we did The Piano Lesson, when we did Thoughts Of A Colored Man -- everybody was like, 'When are you gonna bring it to our city?' So, this time everybody has no excuse!"

Featuring Nichelle Lewis as Dorothy, Deborah Cox as Glenda, Melody A. Betts as Aunt Em and Evillene, Avery Wilson as the Scarecrow, Kyle Freeman as the Cowardly Lion, Philip Johnson as the Tin Man, and more -- a stellar cast awaits those lucky enough to attend the limited tour.

Burruss says she's happy to bring the production to fans around the country, acknowledging, "At the end of the day, a lot of people can't afford tickets and fly to New York and all of that. So we definitely wanted to bring the experience to multiple cities... Now mind you, it's something to see because we put the heavy hitters in all the positions."

"I think the biggest thing that I'm looking forward to is seeing it with all my kids," says Todd. "From the young to the older, and even the old lady gang. It's generational... it's a family affair."
