It’s no secret Kanye West has a flare for the dramatics, so his latest headline grabbing move should come as no surprise. In the midst of preparing to launch his Yeezy women’s clothing line, Ye has declared war on the fashion industry, and expressed he has a “John Wick vendetta” against the competition.

Hopping on his go-to message board — social media — on Monday, January 20, West posted a lengthy rant directly addressing his competitors and former partners’ alleged attempts to capitalize on his influence to strengthen their own consumer base.
“No corporations leveraging my platform,”Ye wrote in an Instagram post that’s since been deleted. “Using me to get to get to us. Overcharging our community while ignoring my vision and direction.”
West then took aim at Adidas, whom he parted ways with in 2022 amid backlash from antisemitic comments he had made at the time. Ye accused the sports apparel conglomerate of halting production of his Yeezy foam runners and slides during the COVID-19 pandemic, only to later copy the designs.
Ye continued to blast Adidas, sharing that while he was advised to reconsider his departure from the brand, he ultimately opted to move forward in his own direction, and went on to boast that his creative vision is now “coming to life.”
To top off the already heated post, Ye likened his vengeance against Adidas and other fashion brands to that of the John Wick film franchise. Clearly a favorite of Mr. West, who also referenced Wick on the track “Off The Grid” off his 2021 album, Donda.
“I have a John Wick vendetta,” West expressed, airing his grievances, “against every fashion company. As my fellow Gemini Tupac said Die mutherf***er Die. Now play off the grid.”
Kanye’s latest rant comes just weeks after his furious demand that Adidas remove all Yeezy products from their website, “When you google Yeezy.com, the Adidas site comes before the Yeezy site,” West posted. “Stop doing this. Stop your moves to hold me back. Our partnership is done.” The company obliged to the aggressive request the following day, clearing out all Yeezy-related products and articles from its website.
