Surrounded by the first responders of New Orleans wearing “NOLA Strong” shirts, Gaga sat at a piano in the middle of the city’s famed Bourbon Street to perform her 2022 song, “Hold My Hand,” from Top Gun: Maverick while accompanied by a blues band and choir. Watch the full performance right HERE.
Her performance was intro’d by Michael Strahan and Tom Brady who promoted fans with a message of hope stating, "This year began with a terror attack that tried to shatter it’s spirit, but the resilience of New Orleans is matched by the resolve of our country," Strahan stated. Brady added, "When tragedy strikes, we don't break, we come together."
Gaga’s tribute wasn’t the only moving moment recognizing the victims during Sunday’s big game. Hearts sank again as members of the New Orleans Police Department, New Orleans EMS, New Orleans Fire Department, Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections and the Louisiana State Police occupied the field for the coin toss with each individual holding a photo of one of the 14 victims killed in the terrorist attack on New Years Day.
"We are a resilient community," New Orleans Saints’ Cam Jordan stated during the on-field tribute while also recognizing victims of recent flooding, Los Angeles area fires, and tragic plane crashes in D.C. and Philadelphia. "Together we rise, together we heal, and together we carry your memory with us forever.”
