MGK's MLB first pitch was into the crowd, on purpose: Watch it now

Throwing out a first pitch at a baseball game, is kind of like singing the national anthem at sports game. If things go smoothly great, if not… Well, you’re making headlines. And deliberate or not, that’s exactly where MGK finds himself.

It’s not typically a good thing to throw a "memorable" first pitch at an MLB game because most viral ceremonial first pitches end up with the celebrity looking rather ridiculous on the mound. Google, Mariah Carey and 50 Cent as prime examples.

Despite claiming his creative liberty was intentional, Machine Gun Kelly has now (kind of) joined that list after Tuesday night’s game at Progressive Field, when he threw the first pitch ahead of the Cleveland Guardians' matchup against the Chicago Cubs.

Posted up on the mound in ripped, baggy jeans, a black cap, and red Guardians jersey, repping first baseman Josh Naylor’s No. 22, MGK appeared to set up his pitch to rip right down the middle straight to home plate. But at the last minute, the singer ran toward the dugout and fired the ball high into the stands.

Sharing the moment on social, Major League Baseball captioned the post, “MGK with a unique first pitch [crying laughing emoji].”

That being said, at least one person was into it, the lucky fan wearing an MGK t-shirt who after a bit of scrambling got her hands on the ball, before holding it up to her phone to take a selfie.

MGK’s MLB moment was just one of the many during his MGK Day festivities throughout the weekend. Other events included Friday’s Skate + BMXing event at Crooked River State Park, followed by a trivia night at his 27 Coffee Shop and a movie night at Lago Veranda for a screening of his Life in Pink documentary. Saturday brought a charity softball game at League Park, the former home of the Cleveland Indians (the home team’s former name), and a performance with Nelly at the FWD Day & Nightclub.
