MTV isn’t going back to airing music videos all day, but it is reviving “Cribs.”
The network has announced they are relaunching the classic series that tours the homes of the rich and famous, according to Deadline.

Initially premiering in 2000, “Cribs” gave fans an inside look at the abodes of their favorite musicians, actors and other luminaries over the course of 19 seasons.
Two of the most popular episodes included tours of the homes of Ozzy Osbourne, which later helped launch his hit MTV reality series “The Osbournes,” and an hour-long episode inside Mariah Carey’s massive NYC triplex apartment.
Over the course of two decades, the series morphed into various iterations. Following a successful run on MTV, a country version was spun off for sister network CMT. In 2009, “Teen Cribs” was introduced. A reboot of the original was launched in 2010, with a short-form version introduced in 2017 for Snapchat.
The upcoming 20th season will feature tours of the homes of Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross, Big Sean, “Project Runway” designer Christian Siriano, Johnny Weir, JoJo Siwa, Jordyn Woods, Kathy Griffin, Marsai Martin, Martha Stewart, Nick Young, Nico Tortorella, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Rick Ross, Ryan Lochte, Scott Disick, Tia Mowry, Tinashe, TJ Lavin, among others.
“Each intimate 30-minute episode will take viewers beyond security gates to hang out for an up-close-and-personal look, dropping even more legendary moments like never before,”MTV said in a statement, per the New York Post.
“'Cribs’ didn’t simply introduce the celeb-reality genre; it created a blueprint for how we engage on social media,” added Nina L. Diaz, President of Content and Chief Creative Officer of MTV Entertainment Group. “We are thrilled to usher in a new era of this iconic franchise for audiences around the world.”
“Cribs” premieres Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 9:30 pm ET on MTV.
