The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame class of inductees has been revealed with Dave Matthews Band, Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, and more all set to be honored in the Cleveland museum’s hallowed halls on October 19.

The Rock Hall's big reveal came on Sunday night (April 21) during American Idol, with 2022 Rock Hall honoree Lionel Richie and Idol host Ryan Seacrest announcing this year's official 2024 class chosen from another group of incredible nominees.
Mark Ronson's campaign to get first-time nominees Foreigner into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame seems to have paid off handsomely, as the group joins this year's class of inductees along with Dave Matthews Band, Cher, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & the Gang, and Peter Frampton. Additionally, Musical Excellence awards will be bestowed upon the late Jimmy Buffett and Motown Sound creator Norman Whitfield, as well as Michigan rockers MC5, and beloved singer and entertainer Dionne Warwick. Musical Influence awards will also be given to Blues/R&B musicians Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton, while music, film, and TV producer Suzanne de Passe will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
Voted on by an international body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry, artists' eligibility depends on their first recording being released at least 25 years ago. Though Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into the Rock Hall in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath, this year he had been nominated for the first time as a solo artist. In fact, among all of this year's inductees, Dave Matthews Band, Mary J Blige, and A Tribe Called Quest were the only ones up for nomination previously.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s 2024 ceremony will take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, OH on Saturday, October 19. The ceremony will stream live on Disney+ and be available on Hulu following the premiere, along with a special broadcast on ABC.
