Christmas came early, and it wasn’t a silent night. The gift of A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter, which dropped on Netflix on Friday, December 6, unwrapped a sleigh-filled night of performances featuring a host of surprise guests, including Chappell Roan.

After starting off the special by singing “Buy Me Presents" off her Fruitcake EP, dressed in a strapless magenta gown and long black gloves, giving Marilyn Monroe “Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend,” Carpenter followed with a customized rendition of “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” explaining what’s to come.
A little more than halfway through, after an attempt at a naughty “Nonsense” outro by another one of Carpenter’s celeb guests, Cara Delevingne. Sabrina and Chappell Roan are seen descending a set of stairs into Carpenter’s post-party, messy living room set, for a festive duet of “Last Christmas.”
Wearing matching white fur coats and jewel-toned green velvet ensembles, the duo sang the Wham! Christmas classic amongst empty wine bottles and red solo cups, as the lyrics displayed karaoke-style on a vintage TV.
While the musical comedy holiday special isn’t exactly a new concept, Carpenter's first take on the holiday variety show is “the ho ho ho-iest special of all,” bringing the popstar’s bombshell glamour, with a touch of her signature raunchy twist, (“the entendrés are doubling,” as she says in the special).
Other special guests who stopped by throughout the 50-minute special include Tyla who joined the pint-sized popstar for a rendition of “This Christmas,” Shania Twain for a duet of “Santa Baby,” and Kali Uchis, who joined Carpenter for a performance of “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” Plus, Quinta Brunson, Kyle Mooney, Nico Hiraga, Megan Stalter, Sean Astin, Owen Thiele, and Jillian Bell.
“The holidays have always been so special to me,” she said in a statement leading up to the special. “I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show — infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.”
