Over the last few years, the “Beverly Hills 90210" star had been mostly quiet and away from social media while battling stage four breast cancer. But her most recent Instagram post suggests she may be raising her voice again soon.

In the post, she laments "cancel culture” and goes into some depth on the topic in the caption.

The photo is simple enough – a nice, hazy shot of a smiling Doherty, wearing a black sweater, and sitting in what looks like a kitchen. But the caption below it is not so sedate.

Doherty starts by referencing why she’s been somewhat absent. “Obviously I’ve had some battles to fight. Some not done yet,” she states. “I’ve also just been in observation mode. Observing what our world is becoming. What my country is becoming and listening.”

But she’s not just listening.

“I do have a lot to say,” she says. “I have strong opinions on it all, even in the ridiculous cancel culture we live in, I still will always have my own opinion regardless of what others think.”

“Cancel culture….so over it,” she continues. “We are entitled to our opinions. We do NOT all have to think the same. It’s disturbing that anyone feels compelled to be silent in fear of repercussions (unless you’re a racist ass then yeah be quiet) but we are human.”

And as Yahoo Entertainment reported, it’s not just cancel culture, but a number of animal rights issues that seem to be weighing heavy on the actress’ mind.

“I am trying to figure out my own voice and how to express it,” she explains. “I see so much hatred and pain. Animals being poached. Game reserves dehorning rhinos just to keep them alive. Lions raised for their bones, morons hunting what they don’t eat. People dumping animals at shelter because it no longer fits their lifestyle.”

These concerns about our current societal debates mean that while Doherty may be laying off the social media end of things, she is thinking about extending her media range in other ways.

“And maybe, just maybe contemplating doing a truly honest podcast about it all,” she says, “cause i am tired of only two voices. Their is a third. Even a fourth.”

A number of her famous friends seem to be in agreement with Doherty’s urgent expressions, as Candace Cameron Bure, Paulina Porizkova, and her former “90210” co-star, Tori Spelling, all liked the post.
