There sure is a lotta love in the Akins household.

Country star Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins are proud parents of three little girls -- Willa Gray, 4, Ada James, 2, and their newest, Lennon Love at just five months old. In a new interview with his record label, Big Machine, Thomas shared the couple’s intention behind their new bundle of joy’s name.

Thomas, who personally chose the name Lennon Love after his wife gave him carte blanche on the naming rights explains, "Lennon came from John Lennon, from The Beatles. I knew I wanted some sort of musical name for our third child, and me and Lauren both loved the name Lennon."

While the middle name Louise had always been in the running, they changed their mind when the little girl entered the world just four days before Valentine's Day.

Thomas says one of Lauren's friends texted her highlighting the holiday of love and suggested the name to her. “It kind of started as a joke, but kinda became cemented,” he says. “That’s what we kind of decided in the hospital."

Now in the fourth month of stay-at-home recommendations, the singer also says he is more than happy to be in quarantine with his family.

“When you have kids during this time you definitely have to figure out new ways to allow them to have fun while also kind of exercising their brain," he said in another clip. “We’ve just been finding new ways to get outside. We’ll go swing in the hammock, we’ll go walk in the woods, we’ll play in the pool, we’ll go to Chick-fil-A’s drive-thru. I mean honestly, walking to the mailbox has kind of been the highlight of our days, most days.”

"To me, it’s been kind of a blessing in disguise to be able to hang out with them and get to learn them a little bit better," he added.

The couple recently spoke up about racial injustice amidst the Black Lives Matter protests. Alongside a hand-written Bible verse about hate being evil, Lauren wrote in part, "I believe if I stay silent I am betraying my brothers and sisters. I believe if I stay silent I am betraying my daughter," and encouraged her followers to join her in "speaking up loudly for injustices whether or not we share the same skin color, language, beliefs... the list goes on.”

Thomas Rhett, ever the family man, released a touching Father’s Day duet with his songwriting dad, Rhett Akins this year as well.
