The group, which consists of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick and Lance Bass, hadn't been on the VMA award show's stage together since 2013 for Justin Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award medley.

They gathered to announce the winner for Best Pop, which Taylor Swift won.
Wondering the same thing as the rest of us, Taylor asked "what's going to happen now? They're going to do something and I need to know what it is."
Reminiscing how she used to have their dolls, Taylor said "you're pop personified... to receive this from your golden pop hands, it's too much" she said before thanking them for her honorary friendship bracelet.
Their appearance comes after rumors of the band recording new music for the upcoming Trolls Band Together movie where Timberlake is renewing his role of Branch alongside Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi and more.
If true, this would be the first *NSYNC release since 2002. The song would follow several guest appearances and features from the band members. Earlier this year, Timberlake collaborated with Coco Jones on the "ICU (Remix)" and Timbaland and Nelly Furtado on “Keep Going Up.” More recently, Fatone joined Bow Wow for a performance of "ABC" by the Jackson 5.
