That was close.

Pilot and beach-goers alike dodged danger when a World War 2-era airplane made an emergency landing in the water in Florida.

The incident, which happened during the Cocoa Beach Air Show off Satellite Beach, was captured by a man named Nickolas Hawley who was watching the event on April 17.

In the clip, which can be seen above, the military-green aircraft can be seen gliding just above the surface of the shallow water of the crowded beach.

The camera tracks the plane’s swift movement as the engine roars.

The plane can be seen splashing into the water, just barely missing some swimmers, as other visitors looking on can be heard screaming in shock.

Towards the end of the clip, Hawley approaches the plane along with other worried visitors.

“Holy s—, dude. I’m so glad no one got hit,” Hawley says off-camera.

The man posted the clip to his Facebook.

“Plane crashes right in front of us!!! Happy nobody was hurt 🙌,” he wrote.

Hawley told Story that he estimates about a thousand people were on the beach when it happened.

In a post on the Cocoa Beach Air Show’s Facebook page, event organizers said the plane ditched due to a “mechanical issue” and rescue personnel were immediately on the scene.
