Less than a week after announcing the arrival of the brand new track, Benson has delivered us “Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else.” Even dropping the song “early,” just as he shared he’d do one day ahead of the drop.
In the lead up to the single’s debut, Benson had fun, sharing clips of himself singing along to the track, as the lyrics displayed. The first, posted three days prior to the song’s debut featured a charismatic Boone posing around a house with beautiful views as he sang.
Then, counting down the hours to the songs debut, noting “6 hours and this baby is out,” in the posts caption (though the video suggested “18 hours”) Benson’s next clip saw him in the studio singing along to a different part of the track.
After counting along to the song’s intro, Boone secured on a pair of shades, and began — “She was runnin' late for dinner south side of town / Left the phone a little bitter but it’s cool for now / Far from perfect for each other but we’re working it out I suppose (I suppose) / Now I’m waiting at the diner looking traumatized / Cause you walk up to the table with an order of fries / And I know you / Yes I know you / Used to love you / And I said… I’m sorry I’m here for someone else.”
