AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- A Travis County Sheriff's deputy is dead and another person has been hospitalized after a rollover crash in far west Austin.
Austin-Travis County EMS says the crash happened just before 7 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 7700 block of Farm to Market Road 2244, west of Loop 360.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened when a vehicle traveling westbound crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with the other vehicle headed eastbound.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office has identified the deputy killed as 32-year old Christopher Korzilius. Sr. Deputy Korzilius was driving his unmarked Ford Escape unit at the time of the crash.
ATCEMS said the survivng adult was transported to St. David's South Austin Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
DPS and Travis County teams continue to investigate the crash.
TCSO officials say funeral arangements for Korzilius are pending and will be announced at a later date.
