20 people arrested after downtown protest on I-35 mainlanes

AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Police officers arrested more than a dozen people after a protest snarled traffic on the mainlanes of Interstate 35 in downtown Austin Friday afternoon.

Austin Police say they responded to the scene near I-35 and Cesar Chavez around 2 p.m.

Officials said 20 people were arrested for obstructing the highway, which is a Class B misdemeanor charge. Two people were arrested for criminal trespassing.
