AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin favorite Alamo Drafthouse says they'll require guests to wear face coverings when they re-open.

The chain, which closed all of its locations on March 16, said in a Twitter post Friday that it will require guests to wear masks, except when eating or drinking. Those without masks will be given one.

Alamo has not yet announced when it will re-open its theaters. Under Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's plan to re-open the economy, movie theaters are currently allowed to operate at 50% capacity with proper social distancing.

Earlier on Friday, AMC Theatres reversed course, saying it would also require moviegoers to wear face masks. The company's CEO had said on Thursday that guests would not be required to wear face masks.
