AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- Austin Police say they've made an arrest in a deadly shooting involving Hurricane Laura evacuees early Thursday morning.

Police say 21-year old Linton Alexander has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

According to police, multiple 911 calls came in reporting a fight at East Sixth Street and Brazos, near the Driskill Hotel, involving about 60 people around 12:30 a.m. Thursday. Two groups of hurricane evacuees from Port Arthur and Beaumont were involved in the incident, where individuals from both sides produced handguns.

Police say Alexander fired and struck 51-year old Amy Lynn Warner, a woman who was experiencing homelessness and was otherwise uninvolved in the incident. Warner was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
