AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has led to food insecurity for many across Central Texas, and the Austin Humane Society is hosting another drive-through pet food pantry to help pet owners this month.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Austin Humane Society at 124 West Anderson Lane.
Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and those who plan to attend are urged to RSVP online. Guests should enter the shelter parking lot from Georgian Drive and follow the signs; attendees should stay in their vehicles, and staff and volunteers will provide contactless delivery of the food.
Officials say they plan to serve approximately 1,000 dogs and cats through the event.
The event is made possible by a partnership with H-E-B and the generosity of the Turner Family and Firehouse Animal Health Center.
